How long to breastfeed? Seeing these babies i just think that would be too much to handle.. No judgement at all it's all nutrition from mommy but at 3-5 are they really getting enough milk out? It's like they would be there forever lol

At 3-5 it's not nursing for full nutrition--think of it as a supplement or a probiotic for them. There's a lot of good antibodies in breastmilk too. Personally for my children I wouldn't nurse past three but I have no judgement for mamas who choose to nurse later.

@kmally, ok well that makes sense.. I want to at least nurse to 1 but I'm not sure how it would be longer I guess it will be the wait and see game.. They sometimes want to stop right?

@oshia5starlady, ok I know I'm not a ftm but it's been a while don't they start eating solids before 1 or around 1?

I nursed for 26 mos, your body adjust to what the baby needs/drinks...at that point he only nursed when he first woke up and before bed so I only produced enough milk for that

That was.. disturbing. I'm planning to nurse to 6 months to a year. once that baby is getting teeth you best believe he or she is moving on to milk. Anyway when they can walk and talk and such I think that is to old.. but no judgement.

like around 1 Yup @rhonda.otero I am sorry but that if a child is walking and talking and eat solid foods and taking vitamins. I definitely would not be breast feeding him that video gross I understand if she wanted him to drink breast milk she could have pump for him. To each its own

I didn't give him dairy but I made almond milk that he drank.

@oshia5starlady, it just seems like too much the kids were everywhere pulling and tugging like it was part of playground equipment

@bianca_rose, oh ok is that better for him? I need to do a little more research I just did whatever my doctor said with my other two I didn't really question it but the world has evolved so much since then.. I know they don't want you giving your baby cereal early anymore, no more bumpers on cribs.. I feel like I'm a Ftw all over again

@jasmine137, so you didn't keep producing after 3 months or chose not to? That didn't make you go into labor pumping early?
jasmine·
Мама дочки-младенца
@rhonda.otero, i chose not to because i was having extreme pain so my doctor ended up having to put me on medication so i had to stop pumping because my milk was no longer baby friendly. my doctor had told me at 37 weeks that it was safe for me to start pumping i ended up having my daughter a week and a half later but due to completely different circumstances.

@jasmine137, oh ok I've seen post on here about that jump starting labor
jasmine·

it can start you into labor if your not careful so its always best to make sure you ask your obgyn when is an ok time to start

@mommy2be15, typically teeth don't interfere with breastfeeding at all. They may bite once or twice but once they see you're reaction they typically stop. My guy nursed until 15 months and self weaned. I think my milk changed/dried up when I got pregnant :(
Bianca·

In my opinion yes, but that's a personal decision

And yes, there's so many different options now, research is a must lol

@bianca_rose, oh ok @kmally oh ok I would think you would produce more being pregnant since women are always leaking lol
Kaylyn·

lol nope. Your milk changes and some women dry up. I actually never leaked with my first and haven't leaked so far this time either!

I did until my daughter was a little over 2. She did bite me once but it's because she was being a butt head and it didn't hurt that bad. It was just easier for her to self wean. Plus the less she drank the less milk I made and it was a pretty easy transition. Only problem is she think that they are HER boobie milks and Z can only have a little when he's born lol

@jessica0830, lol oh ok I've never been able to long enough and this time I'm praying I can do it at least for a year or until she no longer wants it but I think I will pump if it takes her a long time to wean off
Jess 🕊·
@rhonda.otero, I was thinking about pumping too but after 1 it's usually a comfort thing more so than nutritional. They want it straight from the source lol. My daughter would nurse to sleep every night... But during the day she wanted Reginald foods and drinks.

@jessica0830, see I can see doing that as a bedtime routine even adults like warm milk before bed lol
