question when can i let my lo sleep? he was a preemie and the doctor said to wake him every four hours to eat. but now i wake him up all the time but he is also on the boob alot longer so why cant I just let him sleep?
It's better to not wake a sleeping baby they are very good at waking up when they're hungry. I never woke my daughter and she was born with jaundice and even with her sleeping as much as she wanted it went away and she passed up her birth weight quickly
My daughter was preemie and I never woke her up. I always let her wake herself up
Let him sleep I do I never woke my baby up unless she was asleep all day
I fed on demand with my daughter. She ate every 2-4 hrs during the day and at night she would eat around 10-11, wake herself up around 2am, then again around 8. I never worried about the once a night longer stretch because she was gaining weight and not hungry. She wasn't a premie though.
We have mommy instincts for a reason. If you feel comfortable letting your little one sleep go for it, I personally figured that my pediatrician wouldn't say wake them every 2 to 4 hours if they didn't have a reason. I got lucky and my daughter wakes up every 4 hours on her own.
