I was in the hospital a few nights ago and they gave me one and I slept the entire night. My body somehow didn't wake me up to go pee.@

ambien had reverse effects on me. it kept me up. made me miserable

@missjuline I took ambien the last 4 weeks I was pregnant with my first because of severe insomnia. My son is very healthy and I had zero complications. He is 3 now. I will say the night my water broke and labor started, I had taken it about two hours prior and I was reeeeeeeeally feeling it, but I had to wake up and move around to clean myself up and leave for the hospital. My waters soaked me, the couch and the floor where I was sleeping. Lol It was pretty wild. I definitely felt a little funny and it showed. (I was in a very good mood. Haha!) I had a very smooth l&d and can say I felt safe taking it for the short time that I did.

I totally get how you feel but like I said once you get past the first trimester there is a lot less danger from meds, and if your doctor prescribed he/she decided the benefits outweigh the risks so don't let your guilt get the best of you!

I'm really surprised they prescribed that for you. I was taking it before I became pregnant and my Dr immediately took me off when we found out.

I haven't taken Ambien, but when I was in the hospital with kidney stones I was very nervous about all the drugs they gave me, but all the nurses and dr's reassured me that they wouldn't prescribe me something if it wasn't safe. So my advice would be to trust your doctor and take it. A lot of things are safe after the first trimester when your babies organs have formed, and lack of sleep isn't good for you or baby either! Just my 2 cents though!

You can always start off with half if you do take it .
