I'm just looking for a little reassurance I guess, just to know I'm not crazy or the only one. Is anyone else insanely protective of their kids? Especially over your pregnancy? I feel like now that I'm a mom my first thoughts are always - How does my child view this, how does this affect my child's wellbeing, how does it make my child feel. I feel it more strongly during pregnancy because even though the baby isn't here here I still worry about its well being and how others actions are affecting them in utero or not. I know that anything someone puts me through affects my baby and I'm just trying to keep things as chill as possible but people all of a sudden are overstepping their boundaries and I'm not having it when it comes to my kids. Am I just being overprotective?
So far the one I mentioned is great. Gives a great point of view. Secrets of the baby whisperer, Peaceful Parent Happy Kids, No bad kids, The Five Love Language of Children, No Drama Discipline, Brain Rules for Baby are a few I am looking into. @lilchicken
@preggerstone, what are your favorite parenting/ baby books?
I love books! I have more suggestions to. ;) I am on the same boat and always have so many worries but reading things help me at least. My little one is only 4 months and so many things go through my head.
@preggerstone, thank you I'll have to check it out, I've been looking for a new book to add to my collection :)
you are not crazy as a mama bear you should be protective of your babies from conception tell the day you die... that's my opinion anyway and people should respect you for being an awesome mama
It only becomes over protective if it affects your child. You can create fear in your child when there is no need to. I had an over protective mother. Just be careful not to stop them from experiencing things even if it may have a risk(falls, failing grades, emotional). I know I struggle with things but know I have to let things go in order for them to learn. It's so hard being a FTM that's for sure! I have read this well listening to this awesome book called The Conscious Parent and love it.
@mamabear1416, thank you for understanding, people were making me feel like I'm crazy to be so protective of my babes.
no you are being a awesome mama and I'm right there with you

Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
Honest opinions.
How do you feel about immigrants? All races, not just Mexicans. Does racism play a factor in how you feel?
Doc says I'm still 2cms and I'm about 60-70% softened but baby hasn't dropped completely and I just wanna cry like if she hasn't dropped all the way then why does my pelvics feel like this somebody help how do I get this baby to drop more 😞🤦🏽♀️
My mom's trying to convince me to let her into the delivery room with us, but I honestly just want it to be my boyfriend and I. And it doesn't even have anything to do with how shitty my mom has been this entire pregnancy, I just feel that this is our child, I want it to be just something that we experience. Plus, I feel it'll be a lot less stressful if only my boyfriend is there. But my god, she's trying to make me feel guilty and I'm about to snap 🙄
Welcome. Good luck! ;) you'll do great.
