my 2 month old sleeps from 1-2am to 12-1pm. How is that sleeping too much? she's mostly up during the day.

you should be waking her up every 2 to 3 hours for feedings but otherwise let her sleep . waking a sleeping baby interrupts a developing brain . Id say unless she passes that 3 hour mark of not eating then that should be the only reason you intentionally wake her up

He suggested I wake her up 2 to 3 times during the night

your doctor may just say that because at 2 months some babies still sleep through the day but if you see no problem and your baby is healthy don't mind the doc

That isn't sleeping too much. My daughter is three months old and sleeps about 18-21 hours a day, which is the recommended amount of sleep for her age. Your doctor is wrong & honestly if my child's doctor didn't even know about proper sleep needs for newborns, I would look into getting a new pediatrician.
