So I keep hearing about a chromosome test to find out the gender, how does that work? I asked my mom about it & she didn't know anything.
If you aren't high risk most insurers won't pay for it. I had the harmony test at 13 weeks I think and found out she's a girl :). My SO family member asked and they told her around $300 after insurance paid their part. It's like a $1500 test
Make sure your insurance covers it mine was like 1300 and I had to get 11 tubes blood taken from my arm. thank god for insurance
Still pretty pricey even with insurance. I decided not to do it & wouldn't recommend spending extra $$ doing it unless you have a history of chromosomal disorders in your family. Only because shortly after that, you can find out the gender in a routine ultrasound :)
I had the harmony test done. I had to cause I'm high risk. But that's how I found out at 13weeks.
I think I'll wait for the ultrasound then 😂😂 my cheap ass ain't payin that much when I'll find out in 7 or 8 weeks anyway
eh... it depends... some insurances won't cover it, some will.. it all depends on if your dr says you need it or not... and there are at least 3 different test. I did the panorama test and there is a harmony test and I know one more, just can't think of what's it's called.
my sister in law has insurance she still had to pay 2hundred some odd dollars for it
They have a new way of detecting fetal blood through your blood, which shows the babies DNA. (:
It's just a blood test and you can find out the gender sooner. I just had mine done Friday and my Dr said it would take about a week to get back the results. So I am here not patiently waiting lol! @lindsayymarieee
@littlemissrainesmommy, thank you! Does it cost extra if you have insurance?
@lindsayymarieee, I had the Harmony test rather than an amniocentesis which was just a blood test and my cost was $135 after insurance. It was recommended because of risk factors however
