I'm pretty positive that chewing sugar free gum is ok unless you plan on eating it...but I was allowed to sip water and I was also allowed to eat right before my appointment but if she's afraid she can always carry the gum in her pocket and ask the doctor most minty gum is sugar free anyways and shouldn't effect sugar levels if it doesn't contain any lol @mflatow but @lakree214 it wouldn't hurt to ask but bringing gum to chew that's the only thing I would do different if I could

@mommy2b2016, I don't think you're supposed to have anything while waiting. When I got my test done I wasn't even allowed to drink water.

one thing of advice maybe have some sugar free gum on hand for chewing while waiting for the results the aftertaste is pretty nasty just bc it's so sweet

It really isn't that bad. The stuff they give you tastes like orange flavored water. Good luck!
