my daughter's pediatrician switched her to Similac soy isomil because she is constipated. but I read on WebMD that it causes constipation bc of the extra iron in it. She screams when she goes to the bathroom and it is really hard and her little bottom is so red and sore and she sounds like she is getting a sore throat from crying so much. my nerves are shot. I just want my baby to feel better. should I switch pediatricians?
@supermom1104, I tried BF but didn't produce anything 😥
the gripe water made her tummy feel better but didn't make her go.
@kristinamarie_1996. I will have to try the sugar. brown or white? and since she's only 3 weeks should I only give her 1oz?
our pediatrician told us to give our 2 month old 2oz of sugar water in the morning and 2oz at night. 1 tsp sugar per 1oz water.
I just gave my daughter gripe water for the first time the other day and yes it does help with the fusiness but it gave her the poops BAD. :(
we tried both karo syrups. I will try some gripe water. she won't let my husband or I put her down. poor thing won't sleep either.

I mix baby prunes in my daughters bottle every now and then and that helps her
yes. and we tried karo syrup and prune juice. we put the karo in warm water and her formula and the prune juice in her formula and straight and everything makes her projectile puke everywhere.
have you tried the qtip with petroleum jelly and I tried something once with my LO that my mom suggested and it worked, the little inch of skin before her butthole when she's pushing trying to force out poop you can push down on it..I did it once just because my baby wouldn't poop and I didn't know what else to do I felt so bad for her..but I did that and she immediately had a diaper full, sometimes they just need a little help.
