Alright... So, I'm having my glucose test on the 31st. The doctor warned me about how it may be hard…

I had no problems. I didn't have to fast and ate a high protein low carb breakfast and brought a straw so it would go down easier. It tastes like a flat orange soda to me @lillyloveless

Ok..the orange one is the best of the flavors, and it tastes like flat orange soda. The one hour is easiest on your system for SURE. It has 50 mg of sugar. If you fail that, they may give you the 2 hour but its not usually the case - the 2 hour contains 75 mg of sugar. They will usually skip to the 3 hour test which is the most difficult, and the drink has 100 mg of sugar and its EXTREMELY difficult to swallow and keep down. They want you to pretty much chug the bottle and keeping it down is the hardest part. Tip: no matter what, make sure the drink is as cold as possible. With the one hour, you can eat protein beforehand, like an egg. With the 2 and 3 hour, you have to fast from 11 PM the night before till after you have the test.

@rebcamdot, Oh okay. I can deal with that taste, my daughter has flattened plenty of orange sodas for me LoL. He told me I didn't need to fast so I wasn't sure if I should or not to be safe?

We normally eat eggs for breakfast, so I'll just go about it like a normal day.

It almost taste like orange kool-aid! I ate 2 hrs prior with my son and 45 mins before with my daughter and passed both.

@lillyloveless, I ate eggs and turkey bacon early in the morning and then went in mid-morning for the test. They didn't have the option for it to be cold at my office, so having the straw made it so easy to suck it down! I just sat there on a sugar high with my baby kicking away!

@rebcamdot, @cparnell, They have my appointment at 10:45am.. We normally wake up about 8ish. So that should give me time to eat and then drink that on the way out there. (It's a 45minute drive to the Doctor @.@)

I had no problems drinking it! It just taste like juice to me lol you'll do fine.

@lillyloveless, we have to drive 45 mins also and i ate McDonalds on the way there lol but i also knew I'd be waiting over an hour before even taking my test because i had my dr appt first then had to wait at the hospital to do the test.

I think the drinks are different for different hospitals because when I did mine it was the worst thing I've experienced in my entire pregnancy so far. I had the orange drink and it tasted like orange soda syrup and it was thick and Nasty and I was on the verge of passing out and throwing up and I couldn't stand or talk and I sweat the whole time. My stepmom thought something bad was going on and yea. to this day I cannot drink orange soda of any kind (like the mtn dew live wire was my favorite. Can't even smell it now) or eat anything orange flavored (orange candy). It just makes me sick. But other people on here have said it tasted fine or good so idk lol

Definitely eat before, I drank it right on down and threw it up 10 min later 😂 I was so mad I thought i did good and he wasn't feeling it lmao I started sweating and my mouth was watering and I knew it was coming up. so this time I will drink it much slower. And it does taste just like flat... Super flat orange soda
