Slightly confused seen on the NHS website that your meant to be offered a sweep at 40 weeks and 41…

Hey. I wasn't allowed a sweet until 7 days over due either. I think this is standard. I know every day seems like forever when overdue!

it's just strange that I says on the NHS website that you should get one at 40 weeks and then again at 41 for your first pregnancy 😑 @homely.mummy.no2

I've only ever been given a sweep by midwife at 41 weeks with both my boys but I know it may vary depending on area. x

I think it's the area, also because I really want a water birth, and don't want to be induced at all @shannon391 -and my midwife just wants to at least try, getting kinda fed up lol

my friend just had her baby.

she had her sweep on her due date!! they have changed it now. and if that didn't work she have it a week later but it did work so she didn't have to x

I had a sweep when I was 7 days over as that's when she offered it to me! Although the my midwife did say if I wanted one sooner then I could go to the hospital and request one as I was over 40 weeks xx

I was at hypnobirthing last night and our teacher is a doula also, she spoke to us about having a sweep and said remember your due date is a guesstimate and a high percentage of woman have their baby's at 41 weeks, you don't want to make the baby come before it's ready, so wait till 41 weeks x

@vic22, my midwife told me to have the sweep on my due date as well, next Wednesday. Did your friend give birth on the due date or later ?

I had mine day after due date then one every few days I went 10 days over x

@may23, her waters broke 2/3 hours later.. and then she had him early hour the next morning. was a long labour. x

Crazy how this all works for different areas in the country providing everything is okay with the person (mammy) the same rules should apply I think as it's a different story of every other midwife. or to what I believe it is anyway. 💙
