Hi, I'm a first time mom to an almost three month old boy. I had a lot of complications during labor, delivery and recovery which prevented me from breastfeeding starting off. I've heard you can start trying to pump/breastfeed again even if you've stopped making milk. I really want to start breastfeeding, so any advice would be helpful!

@walker0917, I never leaked milk either with both of my pregnancies but that doesn't mean you won't make milk. Not everyone leaks milk during pregnancy :) also wanted to let you know that if you want someone to see a comment where you're responding to them then you need to tag their name like this @walker0917 :)
@bensonmomma, that's true! But fenugreek taken during pregnancy has been known to cause complications to pregnancy & baby so it's always best to wait till after :) you're welcome!
I never leaked milk while I was pregnant and was worried I wouldn't produce any at all, but I was producing for about 2 weeks after birth. so if that's why you're worried, don't be! your milk will come in! I just had circumstances that I couldn't breastfeed until it was too late :(

@bensonmomma, no no no! You absolutely cannot take fenugreek while pregnant. For one there's no reason for it, your milk will come in on its own. & for two it can cause you to go into preterm labor and it can put the baby at risk! It's strictly for postpartum :)

You can get fenugreek at any store that sells vitamins! I get mine from Walmart and I take two pills, three times a day. Morning, noon, and night. Fenugreek and pumping will REALLY help. Even try to get your baby to suck on your nipples as a pacifier and that should really stimulate your milk flow. I've breastfed two kids and know a good amount on the subject so if you need any advice feel free to message me! Good luck!
thanks! I just get so upset because of how my labor and everything went. I had sever preeclampsia where my blood pressure was 171/126. the hospital I was at sent me home with 3 blood pressures over 140/115 and it just makes me so upset that they didn't admit me then and something worse could have happened. I feel like everything would have went okay if they would have admitted me that day..

I had to stop Breastfeeding because after I gave birth 3 weeks later I had to get my gall bladder taken out. Even before that I was having trouble producing enough milk supply and I would have to give my baby formula and nurse her and then pump but it wasn't much. I was recommended to take an herbal pill called MotherLove which has Fenugreek and other things that helped but I didn't feel it helped as much. Everyone is different but if you can't breastfeed don't stress yourself because as long as you are feeding your baby you are doing a great job☺️
can you get those just at a grocery store? I've never seen them anywhere.
Same situation I am going to try Fenugreek which is a herbal pill to help with it . I have Mothers Milk Tea but my house is really hot and I am not into drinking hot tea that much. I try to pump but It's hard bc I am not producing as much. But I heard Fenugreek really works
