I've been told that the only reason you shouldn't take really hot baths or showers is because your heart rate will rise, in turn raising baby's heart beat and that if you stay in for too long and are sweating because the water is hot, it can cause dehydration. so I was told, you can use hot water but if you're sweating or your skin turns red it's too hot

@kbuggie20, I LOVE my OB, he's been my gynecologist too for years and he's also my mom's dr, sees a bunch of her friends, my friends, has delivered some of my friends and their babies too! He's awesome! I love him! I've sat in his office crying and he just gives me a hug and helps me talk out my worries. It's great that you have a doctor you trust so much too. Makes a huge difference, pregnancy can be really scary sometimes!

@rebcamdot, me too girl OB babies me and acts like my momma idk why but i trust her with my life, so if she thinks it's not a big deal and wont hurt the baby then so be it lol but neither you nor I said we turn the water scolding hot and get in I wouldn't do that regardless pregnant or not :)

@kbuggie20, I've been taking nice warm Epsom baths since I asked at my first appointment at 7 weeks, because I already suffered from sciatica and knew it would get worse! I totally trust what my OB tells me above anyone else and I couldn't survive without my baths! No problem! 😊🛀🏻

@rebcamdot, yeah i definitly dont turn it all the way up and get it it burns me, maybe about half way and as it cools down the turn it hotter.

But I've always been told even buy my ON the only time hot water will hurt you is if your far alone and it's not you it hurts its the baby, my mom use to put the baby bath tub as hot as it went and suck in to see me move because I was so little. I was fine. I'm not saying I'll do that to mine but I'll ask my doctor a again@aek91 .

Definitely super hot, like hot tub hot! My doctor told me I could always use a meat thermometer to check if I was worried about it. But I know the water isn't that hot, I'm a whimp! A warmer bath is completely safe though. Our own body temps are 98.6 and when I checked out of curiosity my water temp is much lower, so no need to worry! @kbuggie20

I don't even think my hot water heater goes that high. I would think that would be super hot right? @aek91

@kbuggie20, You just want the water temperature below 102 because it's only dangerous if your own body temperature hits 102 for 10 minutes or longer. But that's too damn hot for me, so I don't worry about it!
