No not really, they're just uncomfortable. Like your belly gets tight and then tenses up and the releases after about 30-45 seconds. The more pregnancy goes on the more intense they get, but nothing too bad.

I'm 27 weeks today, but this is my 2cd baby, and I got early braxton hicks with my first as well, with both they've started around 16-17 weeks.
