It can be a choking hazard added to the bottle and can aggravate their stomach even further. The AAP doesn't recommend anything but breastmilk (or formula) until 6 months of age. If baby is spitting up a lot after feeding it could be signs of reflux. Have you tried keeping baby upright for at least an hour after feedings?
Yes. I was dairy free and caffeine free for about 8 months while breastfeeding. I also had to avoid certain leafy greens. After doing that he slept better, didn't spit up as much, and was just a happier baby in general. Has he been spitting up after every feeding? Is he having a good amount of wet diapers?
Here's a little bit about ties. Have his ped check or look into a pediatric dentist or even work with a lactation nurse. As far as what I ate--I replaced dairy with almond milk. They make almond milk yogurt, there's butter and sour cream replacements and everything. It's really not as hard as it seems. Look on Pinterest for dairy free recipes too.
