The hospital didn't know if his medical insurance would cover the surgery. Then he wanted me to pay 200$ up front. So I had to wait to get his medical card. Money hungry hospitals pissed me off too @pruisbianca

it's so much easier to take care of and you won't have to worry about the pain of a surgery. if he chooses to do it when he's older recovery will be easier with better pain management post-op.

My son is 2 weeks and I need to schedule his soon. I'm also having an issue with insurance and the Dr is asking for $500 up front, which I can't afford. Many insurance companies won't cover the procedure anymore unless it is has specific medical benefits to your son. It's a cosmetic procedure in 99% of cases.

They do cover it. It just depends on what insurance you're with. Like my son is with "county care" & a lot of places don't take county care anymore. So really I could have switched his insurance. Then it would've been a problem. @mirandag

Oh, I just know it's becoming a less popular cosmetic surgery overall. I don't know for sure which insurances cover it and which don't.

My son has state insurance in Tennessee and I think it was covered, but I chose not to have it done. The whole idea just made me uneasy after I looked into how it was done.
