Need some advice ladies, I had my son on Thursday and l want to breastfeed, well we had to supplement formula just until my milk came in. I have been pumping and allowing him to feed on me, when I pump in only pumping only half an ounce. I don't want to mess up my sons stomach by feeding both but should I just pump and dump until my supply comes in more or just save it, just didn't want to waste bags for less than an ounce
he may seem like he's eating a lot but quit the formula and every time he wants to eat let him so he can build your milk supply
I was just worried cause he drinks 2 ounces of formula already but he does spit up some of it @amoureux
The best thing you can do is nurse! That's how your supply regulates. 😊 baby is getting enough.
Thank you ladies for the positive advice @mrsmoore @angiee I'm trying I guess I'll just stop with the formula and just keep feeding and go from there I just don't want him to still be hungry and fussy
Yeah I am just worried because I can breastfeed him but with formula he eats 2 almost 3 ounces at a feeding. I have been drinking mothers milk tea as well, I might have to try a smaller shields to help get a tighter grip on boob I guess. I can have my pump on full speed and still barley get any out.
that's normal you just had your baby your not going to get a bottle full or even four ounces your body makes what baby eats as baby get older and eat larger amount t the more breast milk is produced, the reason why some women quit is because they think they should be making more then that when in reality you just had a baby your body makes what baby eats baby will go through a growth spurt soo. and start to feed more often which in return you will make more ,keep it up 😊
Don't supplement with formula. Just nurse frequently. It can take 5-7 days for your milk too fully come in. Before that baby doesn't need to eat a lot. Their stomachs are small.
Put your baby on you and nurse. Drink lots of water. Eat well.
You'll know if baby is getting enough if he's calm. Fists are relaxed. Gaining weight. And just a happy baby.
I had a hard time pumping. Some times I'd only get half an ounce too. But i know i had more than that whole nursing. Babies are better at getting it out better than the pumps.
Have you tried different speeds and shields?
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.

Having two types of milk can make him fussy too. Even also the fact that bottles are easier and faster to drink out of than from the breasts because they have to learn to nurse and takes more work. So if he gets mad could be because he just wants the bottle.
Just keep nursing. Some days it may also feel like he's always eating and that fine keep nursing could be a growth spurt.
