I have a question! How does the Glucose work? Is it for that week? or starting now till that day…

I am a little confused by your question. The glucose test to see if you have gestational diabetes. Normally they like you to fast or eat something very healthy with not a lot of sugar the day of your test and then you drink the drink. Wait an hour and then they draw blood to test your levels. If you pass the one hour you are good meaning you don't have gestational diabetes. The only way they would test again if you pass the first test is if you have signs or symptoms of having it. If you don't pass the test you have to take the three hour test to determine if you have gestational diabetes or not.

Exactly. If you pass than you are good but if you don't pass then your entire diet changes for the remainder of your pregnancy if not your entire life because you can end up being a diabetic @baby_2016

For example I am only 23 weeks but I took my glucose test last week which is extremely early. The reason I had to take t is because I have had indicators that I might have gestational diabetes. I decided to go ahead and fast completely and not eat so that the test could be more accurate. I passed so I am in the clear for now and don't have to have a specific diet even though I already eat really healthy. I have to take another glucose test at the normal time (26 weeks) to double check and make sure everything is still good. @baby_2016

ohh okay now i get it! thank you so much! so the days before the appointment doesn't count at all? For example all the sugary stuff ive been eating?

Ask your doctor how long they want you to fast or if you can eat the day of the test. No the stuff you eat before doesn't count but if you have it its not gonna matter what sugary stuff you have eaten before. It's after the test that you have to diet properly if you don't pass your glucose ter
