They can get pretty painful if it's bad, and if one busts then you'll be in A LOT of pain. If your not having much pain it's probably going away on its own, if the pain stays around for awhile you might need meds to help get rid of them

I have some and one got so big it ruptured omg worst pain ever!!

I had ovarian cysts and I was in so much pain and I found out my Mirena birth control had caused me to develop cysts on my left ovary.

and I was in so much pain because I had about 5 cysts and 3 of them burst.

Me and my boyfriend had been trying to have a baby for almost 6 years and finally I've gotten pregnant when we gave up. My son is truly a miracle baby and I'm so happy. I've never been pregnant never been on birth control and I couldn't figure out why and it was the cyst on my ovaries and it ruptured on my left ovary leaving just a partial... It was the worst time in my life

@aliepaige, I had AWFUL AWFUL pain on my right side. Shower heating pad nothing helped. And the pain is completely gone now, if it went away on its own should I still go see a doctor?

@miranda13, I also read about pcos and I'm afraid it could be that.

One probably busted and that's the bad pain you felt and that's why your not hurting now. I wouldn't worry about it, I've struggled with them a long time but If it makes you feel better , it wouldn't hurt anything! :)

I get functional cysts they tried birth control it only made it worse I had one so bad in high school they gave me a pass to use the elevator bc I couldnt walk up and down the stairs open doors nothing I ened up going to the hospital bc it was on the same side as my appendix five doess of morphine later they sent me home with tylenol with codiene but some people actually need them surgically removed
