Views on getting the flu vaccine? I work on an ambulance and do not get sick usually... last time I received the flu shot I got the flu.
that might be true then. I probably already had it in my system.
@maliksmommie, is right, the shit can not give you the flu, you likely got the flu after getting the shot because you already had the virus in you (it can live on you/stay in your system for over a week before showing any symptoms). Since a pregnant woman's immune system is already lower than usual they highly recommend it because it can prevent you from getting the flu and being sicker than you need to be. I work in a hospital and it's required by my job to get one, I got it at 14 weeks and have had no issues whatsoever!
well I got it regardless a few weeks after I got the shot. so weird coincidence I guess.
I asked same question the other day... Not necessary, it's not very effective. Of corse your doctor is going to try and push you to get it, but my opinion? Unnecessary it's not worth putting stuff in your body that may not even be effective
I get the flu shot even when I'm not bc I have asthma and it can kill me, but lost of the time I end up with it days after and in the hospital
@foxtrox, the shot itself can't give you the flu because its not a live virus only the mist can because it is live, that's why pregnant women only are allowed to get the shot.
I got the flu shot, nothing happened because it can not give you the flu (only the mist can since its a live virus)
I had received it before and got the flu. also what happened when I received my chicken pox shot.. I get the shot then got the chicken pox.
like I'm not trying to pay for something to give me the flu... no thanks lol
I have talked to my doctor and she recommends it but I also hear it has not been tested on pregnant women
that happened to my mom to so I'm very scared to get it I'm definitely going to talk to my Dr.
It's very important for pregnant women to get the flu shot. I got it while pregnant. Glad I did.
My doctor also recommended me getting the flu shot while pregnant ? I'm not sure if I want to or if i should ? It's all scary to me !! What do you ladies think ? Did you get the flu shot while pregnant ? Are there any risks? Or should I wait ? I'm so scared of taking anything while pregnant , much less getting this shot.. He said it isn't mandatory , just recommended.
Flu shot
Is anyone getting a flu shot? Every time I get one, I get the flu really bad. The years I don't get the shot, I am fine. My on strongly recommends I get one before the baby gets here. I didn't get one when my son was born. I'm torn. Don't know what I should do!!!
Flu shot
Debating getting the flu shot... I have a 2 year old in daycare and I'm a teacher, but I read you can still get the flu even with the shot, what do your OBs say?
Did you ladies get the flu shot ?!? My doctor recommended it but I haven't got it yet
My friend just told me that once you have your baby they get a hepatitis b shot and flu shot automatically. I don't know how I feel about the flu shot.🤔
i work on a bus as well (power to the ems chicks!) I chose not to get the flu shot because of the ingredients in the flu shot. what i do (even not pregnant) if it is not going to interfear with o2 sat is mask the patient. i was more worried about someone who is on chemo. that was scary to me. deep breaths mama bear, make the best decision for you and your lo.
