Any mamas here give birth to 8 pound babies? How was it? Did they still fit in newborn clothes?
@pyemama96, I was just discussing that with my friend, she thinks that she is just going to be long because her dad is tall and my mother is tall. I'm short because of my dad's side and because I was a preemie. I'm hoping she is just long.
My daughter was 8lbs, 15oz. The doctor said she would have been 9lbs, but she pooped in me during labor, so she lost that ounce. She fit in newborn clothes for about a week to two weeks. Not very long!
My son was 8 lbs 13 oz, he never wore the newborn clothes we had, was right in 0-3 mos
@txkitten83, thank you, @pyemama96 @mommabear112. sorry for all of the silly questions, I'm a first time mom and I'm really nervous. Thank you guys for being so nice and helpful. I'm feeling better now. :)
My first son was 8lbs 11oz all natural birth second son was 9lbs had an episiotomy done all natural ad well had to be induced with this one he was to comfortable in there lol, maybe fit in newborn the first week but not long I just went with 0-3 months clothes so they weren't tight on him.
@pyemama96, thank you! I wish I had a birthing ball, but I'm going to pick up the tea today or tomorrow. So far I have tried sex, squats, pineapple, and walking but I don't think I walked enough. going to keep trying. Maybe up the squats and sex haha.
Raspberry leaf tea is great for toning your uterine muscles. Also it is suggested by midwives to help induce labor. Two cups a day generally. Long walks and bouncing up and down on a birthing call can help. I hope everything works out how you want it to!
my daughter was 8 lbs exactly and she's still wearing newborn...she's currently two weeks old.
@mommabear112, see that is what I'm scared of.. we are trying to get her to come early but so far to no avail. I'm getting scraped on Thursday so crossing my fingers we can get her born healthy and as naturally as possible.
yes I was induced. went in on the 11th had him late on the 13th. if at all try to go natural. induction tend to intensify contractions. also ended up with a 4th degree pesidemy ( they cut me from front to back) not fun but he was worth it
@pyemama96, thank you. @srkr1191. oh good good. I got quite a bit of newborn and 0-3 and I'm hoping she can wear the newborn stuff for a good amount of time.
@mommabear112, we're you induced? we're you able to deliver vaginaly? you don't have to answer if that's too personal.
my first born was 10lb 5.2 Oz 22.5 inches. he fit in newborns about 2 weeks
@pyemama96, @stephhhx3. thank you both. I'm probably going to have to be induced, I just hope I don't have to get a c section. wish me luck ladies.
My older sisters, however, have had a combined number of 6 little girls and none of them had to be induced. I guess it depends on the woman.
My son was 8 3 and fit in newborn clothes for a couple months. Then we went to 0-3.
She had to be induced with all of hers at about 38 weeks (she had 11 total kids) but the doctors only induced her because she always had big babies.
@pyemama96, thank you. How was her delivery? Did she have to be induced or did they come on their own?
In that case she may not be in newborns for very long
