Advice... (Beware, kinda long)
My mom keeps getting annoyed at me and bitches at me because of what my boyfriend and I are naming our daughter.. Elliana Aissa Keenan.
She wants me to name our daughter "Bobbie or Bobbi" because my dad was killed 9 months ago, everyone knew him as "Bobby" (Robert)... My grandpa (moms side) who passed in 03, his name was Bobby.. My aunt(moms sister) passed away a few years ago and her name was "Bobbi-Rae"... So my mom thinks it's only appropriate and right to pass down the name... But I don't want to.
The idea was if we had a boy his name would be "Robert Patrick Keenan" (My dads name, then my boyfriends dads middle name)..
Now my daughter's middle name "Aissa" is my middle name which my dad and grandma chose my entire name. And "Elliana" has meaning on my boyfriends side..
So how do i go about my mom and others nagging that my daughter won't be named "Bobbie/Bobbi"???

simply tell her that it is YOUR child and not hers.

she can't be upset over something you and your boyfriend made a fair decision on, it's not her child therefore she has no say and can't be upset. my boyfriend and his brother have the initials M.A.P we could of done the same but it's our child and we know what's best.

that's when I would say "listen, are YOU carrying this baby is YOUR body? are YOU going to be pushing her out YOUR vagina?? No?? Then YOUR opinion is fucking irrelevant." be rude if you have to. it's your baby, and they need to leave you alone about it.

explain to your mother and others that you've taken their opinions into consideration, but at the end of the day it is your decision. you are the one carrying her and who will be raising her, name her what you want to. not what other want you to.
