I always had people tell me that the epidural drugged the baby and all that but no. I was pain free and baby came out healthy and screamin! do whatever is best for you
getting an epidural increases risks slightly: because you can't push as well, babies need help to be born a little more often, including Pitocen or using forceps or vacuum pump. also you are not able to walk as much before and after giving birth.
on the other hand, if you happen to need emergency c-section you are already numb, where otherwise there might not be time for an epidural anymore and you might need full anesthesia, thereby kinda 'missing' the birth. The chance of this happening is small of course. Also if pain stresses you out a lot, without an epidural you might cramp up and it might be more stressful for the baby. So yes it depends on the person and what you feel more comfortable with!

my first was born natural and I plan to have this one natural as well but it's really personal preference whatever you're most comfortable with.
