Omg, my brother just turned 14 but has always been on the bigger side.. His butt wouldn't fit in the middle seat let alone a booster seat 😂😂 I met my boyfriend long before we started dating, he was 13.....I'm gunna have to tell him about this and pick on him a little 😂 then again his sister is 9 now and for as long as I've known them she's never been even in a booster seat, it would be ridiculous trying to tell her she needs to be in one.. Can you get in trouble for them not being in one? I'm in fl too

that law just came into affect about 2 or so years ago here in Tx. But I have to say my kids have never been small and to put them in a booster seat right now would be hiddous! my twins are 12 now and they are already taller than me!

I think they just revised the age to 12. The instructor was discussing that in my birthing class but it's totally up to you what you want to do. Don't feel bad about it lol

lol I can see any 12 year old saying that or looking at us like we crazy. I mean if I was told at 12 I had to still use a booster seat I'd think my parents where trippin!! Yeah, Im reading my sons discharge papers from the hospital from last night and they put this big extra section in there for any child who is seen in the ER anymore on water safety, since theres so many drownings, and other safety stuff. There's this whole section on 'Car Seat Safety for Children ages 5-12' and it details the ages, not the weights, and what they should be sitting in. Also said up until 5' tall.

She was so short lol Now she has sprouted. Still only 68 pounds, but the seat belt goes across her properly. She never rides shotgun either. I don't see a 12 year old in a seat tho, unless they are tiny or developmentally challenged (Cerebral palsy or something along those lines); that's a bit much. @sarahemccormick

@tayek, That makes sense if she was super tiny. 8 sounds appropriate or if the weight is small.

😂 @wyatts_mommy_0106 I just cant even picture pulling up to my boys' middle school, having to get out and unbuckle them from a carsest or even them unbuckling themselves from a booster seat, and them exiting the car and just going on about their day. They really would be the laughing stock of the 6th and 7th grade.

it's 10 here or 100 lbs but they have to be in a high back booster my son's 8 and 100 lbs. he sits in between two car seats he hasn't sat in a booster seat since summer

In Georgia it's age 8 OR 100 pounds. Baby girl JUST got out of hers when she turned 9. At 7 she was just too scrawny lol
