Okay ladies, do obgyn's check for pre-eclampsia every time they take a urine sample?

That's a good question, following this thread I'd like to know that as well. I think they check for protein that I know of

I'm really curious. I'm having so many symptoms of pre-eclampsia. Shoulders are killing me, non stop headaches, nausea even when I take my zofran. I'm so sore and miserable, nothing but sleep helps. @jade90kdcicg I'm really worried

you will do a 24 hour urine usually to check for that, I did it twice with each of my last two pregnancies. I'm not 100% sure if they can just tell with one sample.

Yes that's why they dip the stick in ur urine @jade90kdcicg excess protein in ur urine is one of the signs of preeclampsia

Yeah the do I had preeclampsia with my 2year old and boy that shit ain't no joke

@lillady, what does it feel like? I get no relief, ever. I have non stop headaches, my shoulders ache for no reason, I swell the worst at night. I always feel sick, it doesn't matter what I do or what I take.

I thought shoulder pain, headache, swelling and nausea that can't be helped were symptoms. that's what my little paper said, anyways. @lillady

With my last pregnancy they always checked and the week I was due they found protein in my urine so once they found that I had to take another urine sample and a blood test to find out if I had it @boogersbugsanddirt

I always feel like my heart is going to explode when I go up or down my stairs, it's hard to breathe. I don't know I'm just freaked out, I've had issues in my previous pregnancies, nothing like this. @lillady @pteliza13 just waiting for lunch break to be over at my Dr office

@boogersbugsanddirt, I'm not sure. I know for my last ob appt when I was supposed to get scheduled for induction I showed up positive with a bunch of protien and my dr rushed me to the hospital to deliver. But I think the signs are headache, right upper abdominal pain, high blood pressure, edema, and I'm pretty sure shoulder pain may have been one of the signs. Your swelling would probably be worse at night because you've been walking around and stuff all day.

yeah I had preeclampsia and hypertension and hyperemesis that's why they keeping an eye on me so far em gd
