rub his nose in his mess and pop him for it also bring him out every hour and don't let him back in until he goes potty. that's what I had to do when I was house training my pit

Yeah I didn't want to do that because with my first puppy my dad did that and it made him terrified of my dad but I don't see any other option the baby will be here in 8 weeks and I can't be constantly cleaning up his mess or heaven forbid the baby finds some @wyatts_mommy_0106

@brandylemonds15, we did the bell training with our puppy.. Within a week she was trained.. Rang the bell whenever she had to go.. She knew to only go outside... You can get a bell at any pet store I think it was like $10. http://www.petexpertise.com/dog-bell-training.html

Don't ever rub their nose in it. While it tells them they can't go in that exact spot, they'll find another spot to go or they'll start to hide their messes. It's normal for puppies to have accidents. Make sure you clean it up with a cleaner that has enzymes (Natures Miracle for example). Then they can't smell that same spot (even if you can't smell it they sometimes can!). Bell training can be nice if done properly. The key is getting on a schedule. Take puppy out when he wakes up (even after naps), after playing hard, after eating/drinking. Feel free to message me with any questions! (I've been training and showing dogs for 15 years :))

@brandylemonds15, check out the link I posted. It's different than the click. The bell is hung by the door. You teach the dog to hit bell to go outside to pee. She gets a treat every time she rings the bell. I swear it sounds hard but trust me it wasn't and our puppy never had any accidents. I was completely amazed by the bell training. Heaven sent. I say within a week she was trained but fiancé says it was within a few days.

Putting there nose in it is how my dad trained all our dogs and they are perfectly behaved. Wouldn't go in the house unless you left them there all day and they had no choice. He's just a puppy tho so you have to be patient don't go crazy on him lol. Some people might not believe in it but it works! You do have to clean it with some kinda enzymes cleaner tho so they can't smell the spot anymore

Yeah I clean the mess with bleach and natures miracle and I take him out every hour and only feed him on a schedule to try and reduce messes I've only had him for 3 days so it might just be that he's adjusting but I'll definitely message you . Thanks:) @kmally

Of course! Sounds like you're doing great! Give him about 2 weeks for an adjustment period. I'm sure he'll catch on even sooner than that! ❤️🐾

He's a really good puppy he already sleeps with us and hasn't had one night time accident and for instance this morning he had to potty before his scheduled time he woke me up to take him out so he's learning I think and he understands he can't potty in the house I'm hoping to have him trained within the next 2 months before the baby gets here @kmally

Yeah that's how my first lab was you could leave him in the house for 2 days and he wouldn't potty unless he absolutely had to , but I just hated having to rub his face in the mess @elenasmommy I'm a big softy when it comes to my animals I'm only tough when I have to be

Potty pads , lots of out sides trips ! Rewards and encouraging words!! My dogs an indoor dog and hasn't gone in the house since she was about 3 months we got her at 2 months . You just have to be firm and consistent don't yell and get upset but tell them it's a no no . My dog sits at the door now and either cries or scratches the door to let us no and she holds it all night now but place potty pads in the regular spots he's going so at least your not cleaning up a lot just disposing of the pads and replacing and frequently take him to the bathroom

I definitely don't yell and when he does go he gets lots of loves and kisses and cuddles he loves to be held and cuddled up to my belly I think it's just him getting used to his new home we've only had him for 3 days . Thanks for the input :)@mrscruz0530
