Is the sugar test the same as the glucose test? My doctor said I have to go in two weeks for my sugar test but I don't…

My doc said what they give you to drink is basically clear fruit punch just thicker, so it's like drinking thick sweet juice.. I only had to do the 1hr ome

@rhonda.otero, My doctor said that technically I could eat whatever I want but things that are sugary or higher in carbs sometimes throws the glucose levels off and then I'll have to take the 3 hour test. He's been my doctor for years and usually gives good advice! 😊

@rebcamdot, thank you.. I didn't get any of those tips from my doctor. She just said I could eat whatever I didn't have to fast before coming in

you only do the 3hour if you fail the 1hour

@rhonda.otero, My doctor told me not to fast and to just have a high protein low sugar and low carb breakfast. He also said to bring a straw it helps it go down easier! I'm doing mine tomorrow

I'm almost sure you only do the 3hr if you fail the 1hr. So that's why for the one you can eat but don't eat anything with sugars :-)

@keithallen, @bets ok that makes sense this is the one hour... @february2016 so what's the difference between the 1 and 3hr or do you only have to do the 3 hour if you fail the 1?

You don't have to fast. A lot of people do it if it's early in the morning. Just eat something with high protein and low sugar and carbs and you should be good if you get hungry before your glucose test.

My doc said the 1hr glucose test you don't have to fast but for the 3hr one you do. Not sure if that's just my doctor but that's what I was told :) other places may do it different though

Same thing :) I didn't have to fast either. They have a couple ways of doing it.
