on the morning of October 11th at 9 am I was feeling exhausted and like I needed to nap for a while. my body ached and my tummy was uneasy. I fell asleep at 11am and woke up at 4pm. this is when I noticed I was feeling pain and cramping and was super uncomfortable. I called the dr on call because the baby hadn't been moving for a while and due to the symptoms he said head up to thw hospital. I called my mom ten times who didnt answer and then my bff Jessica. jessica sped down to bring me to labor and delivery. we had finally got my mom on the phone who was 2.5 hours away in Canada and ended up cutting herself and having to go to the ER before getting to me. when we got to L&D they got me settled in and checked my cervix. I was 3-4 cm dilated and 80% effaced. I called my husband and told him to head up after he got done work. he left work then and there lol. finally everyone was there and two hours later they checked again and I was still 3-4 cm. we walked and walked and bounced and rocked. the pain was getting worse so I decided to take a bath. I fell asleep in the bath for two hours while my husband watched over me. the bath gave me more comfort than any thing else. I wanted the epidural and told the nurses that I wanted it now. they said they would call the doctor and we could check me and get anesthesia to come in. I stood up to get out of the tub and my water broke. they checked me and I was 9 cm dialated but couldnt bare the painful contractions. anesthesia came and after 11 needles being stuck into my spine and 2.5 hours they finally got the epidural in. They said I was the most difficult epidural in the 30 years he has been doing this. I also had what is called a forsack meaning I had two waters to break. they broke my second bag of water and I was told I could sleep and they would call my doctor at this point it was October 12th at 4am. the doctor came 1.5 hours later and said it was time to push 30 min of pushing and no tearing my baby girl arrived at 6:15am 7lbs 2oz 20in long. she latched on right away and was eyes wide open. that was the moment I met my one true love. I had originally wanted a water birth but my blood pressure skyrocketed and I was told that was not an option.
