is it possible to have contractions without pain? my stomach gets really tight alot, but I have no pains.

well I didn't dilate till I hit 40 weeks and I was only at 1cm ....then I went to 41 weeks and the day I turned 41 weeks is the day my water broke and when I got to the hospital I was still at 1cm ..but when the contractions started getting stronger that's when I started progressing but I was also in labor for 18 and a half hours

I had Braxton's Hicks Alot and Alot of tightness when I got closer to my due date ..they came more frequent as my due date was approaching then when my water broke my belly would get tight but no pain until about 2 hours in
