I would call the hospital she was at and ask them what to do, or if you can get a hold of the doctor who was caring for her that would be good.

I practice tough love. Id be quick to put a boot up her ass real quick if it was me. I would seriously lay into her a little bit and tell her alcohol will only exacerbate the problem. I have dealt with enough people like that to know...its not cool to drink when you have emotional crap going on. Never good.

You cannot be too harsh depending on what the issues are. Do you know why she tried to self harm, is she diagnosed with any mood disorders? I was in the hospital a lot around this age for depression and self harm and every person is very different. You can private message me if that's better.

You can't be tough on someone who deals with depression. Watch her closely, coming out of the hospital is tough, in they're ppl take care of you, watch every move you make, write down everything you eat how much you sleep. When you get out the "outside world" takes a little time to readjust. If she still seems that way tomorrow take her back! Do not let her drink no matter how big a fight she puts up or how much she Cries about it don't allow her, it will male or worse
