My stepdaughter has now 2 days in a row attempted to steal at school. We don't know what she was trying to steal, but it was both from another student. She's 5. His ex called each time she found out, yet she isn't doing anything to punish her. But she wonders why it keeps happening? My husband tries to scold her over the phone but then calls her princess and says don't cry, it's okay. No it's not. I don't mean you need to spank her or go crazy, but she needs to be punished in some way. I'm so nervous for our future when it comes to parenting. I know he wants to be the " good guy " Bcus he's basically a weekend dad, but still. It really bothers me 😫🙄

We play good cop bad cop in my household. You got to set some standards or the kid will run all over you. Especially at that age. Kids are sponges and she's taking it all in.

Yeah that's exactly what I feel. They both get away with so much it makes me cringe. But I'm just their stepmom. I don't want to start anything so I just stay back. But I do tell them when they are doing something they shouldn't. I can already tell I'm gonna be the bad guy when it comes to the future 😩 haha@momx2
