I feel like I need to say this cause it's on my conscience. Not trying to start anything just want to give some information... I see a lot of nursery pictures lately where the bumpers are on the crib. I want to let the mommys know these are not safe and that many babies have died of suffocation from these. They might look nice but in my opinion it's not worth the risk. So maybe take a picture or two for looks but please don't put your baby in there to sleep with them still on. Do your own research and come to your own conclusion if you must but I wanted to make sure people know the danger in case they aren't aware. Thank you.

Agreed. Thank you for sharing the message! Mesh bumpers are pediatrician reccomended and safe, and breathable. They also keep a baby from getting their legs and arms stuck between the bars.

@sarahemccormick, yes! Mesh is a good alternative the ones I'm seeing are the padded ones meant for looks really, @lp1988727 im glad that you were lucky and like I said I'm not trying to start a debate it's for information only but I wouldn't take the chance with the new information we have now that we didn't when we were babies @jazmin805 you're welcome!

Ok wow you're turning this into a debate however I never mentioned mesh ones in my post. I personally believe in none. A crib sheet and baby swaddled in a blanket is all that should be in a crib. However so far no baby has suffocated on the mesh to my knowledge so it is a better option for parents who feel something is needed. However if you have a crib that is up to code then they aren't going to get trapped. And they can bump their head on the upper bars even with a bumper but it's not going to seriously injure them by any means whatsoever.

I'm buying just sheets, blankets and teething crib guard thing to make up for the lack of bumpers and add a flare of cuteness... Both my kids had bumpers but I don't want to take a chance.. I would never forgive myself if something happened to my baby girl

thank you!!!! I would rather have my baby bump her little head than lose her because I wanted her nursery to be pretty.... Thank you so much for posting this!

I use bumpers for my boys, when they aren't up they get their arms stuck in the rails and bump their heads. I know people don't agree with them, but my brothers and I all survived having them for us, and all 9 of my parents grandkids had them and are fine. But that's just my personal feelings on it, different strokes for different folks...

@lp1988727, not only that but my boys move their heads away from it if they get close to it. they turn their heads, they're strong lil monkeys lol
