breast feeding moms with newborns: how frequent does your baby eat? does he/she get up between feedings to eat? my baby gets up every 3 hours to eat but today he got up twice between one of his 3 hour feedings

It could also just be that his belly is growing. They start out tiny, like a marble, then get bigger and bigger every day.

I stopped timing her now I just feed on demand it's so much easier and convenient if ur breastfeeding and helps with ur milk supply

Cluster feeding! It's normal they'll do that at some point during the day. Some days my baby cluster feeds all day long if she's going thru a growth spurt.
Too long between nighttime feedings? My daughter is 3 weeks today, and last night she went 5 hours between feedings for the first time. We're breastfeeding and she usually wakes me up every 3 - 3.5 hours to eat at night. Is 5 hours too long to go without eating at this point? How long do you let your baby go between nighttime feedings? Thanks :)
I have a question my son is 2 months old and is 12 pounds he was 8 pounds when he was born He is on eating 6 oz every 3 31/2 hour at night he goes 8 hours with out eating does anyone else baby eat this much

Does your baby just want to eat less sometimes? My son is on roughly a 3 hour eating schedule. He usually eats 4-4.5 ounces a feeding but every now and then it is a struggle to get him to eat 3. He is 6 weeks old. How much do you let your baby drive his volume? He was exclusively fed bottled breast milk for 4 weeks and has been 100% formula for 2 weeks now.
Oh and another thing the doctor told me im feeding my baby to much he was eating 4oz every 2 hours she said stick to 3 if its every 2 hours if he can go 3 hours then do 4oz

Nothing's wrong even though if u. Do have any concerns speak to ur lactation consultant. Since he's three days the more he eats the more he's telling ur body to make more milk
