Jax is going through a growth spurt and I'm just not making enough milk. How do I go about adding formula into his diet?

@queendavis, I've been exclusively pumping for almost 2 weeks until a few days ago we had a really good latch and I've been gradually trying to add feedings on the boob so my nipples don't go through the extreme pain again...so I think that might be why my supply is hurting so badly. I really have to think about it because I don't want to regret it later on. But thank you for the supplementing recommendation if I do end up trying it I'll definitely look for that kind !!

Producing breastmilk is a supply and demand type of thing. If he's sucking then milk will be made girl. The more he nurses the more milk you will make and your supply isn't fully established until 6 weeks postpartum. Giving him formula might really decrease your supply and even dry your milk up. But I know your his mama and it's your call, I just want to let you know! I suggest just nursing him as much as he wants and your body will make more milk. If you do decide to introduce formula just give it to him, like one bottle a day at a time. I recommend Gerber Gentle Supplementing formula. It's specifically for breastfeeding moms. But remember girl your supply isn't even established yet so it's very easy to ruin it 🙀

Feed him and if after the boob you think he wants more make an ounce or two of formula
