some babies skin break out with new clothes but I never washed mine

I never washed my kids clothes and they were all new. Now that I'm older I've been really thinking about if it's necessary. I know everyone does it but both of my children were fine with no skin reactions.. If my new baby has them then I would regret it... I'm indifferent

I didn't wash hand me downs BC I trust those who gave me them. I did wash everything that had tags on them BC of dyes and stuff

I think it's recommend to wash new clothes as well, because baby's skin is so sensitive when first born, and new clothing has all sorts of stuff from the manufacture, shipping and handling, sitting in the store, people touching them in the store etc... I'm washing all my clothes for my baby. that's just my opinion tho! good luck with all that laundry!

My SO and I are moving saturday out of his mom's house into our own apartment so I'm trying to make sure all of the stuff gets washed now because we won't have a washer and dryer for about a month and it will run up our electric (she's been a bitch lately so I don't care to much about hers lol) and @sammygirl27 that's what I was thinking too because thrift stores will buy almost 100% of them off of you when you keep the tags on. I guess as it gets closer I'll pick out outfits that I will put him in for sure and wash them. I will be a SAHM as well.

I've washed all the new clothes I've gotten and a couple hand me downs I got. I still have to get my daughter some more clothes. I wash everything since babies skin are real sensitive. If you have a lot of clothes maybe do half and leave the other half left with tags on so you can return them for a bigger size.

the hand me down ones I got cane from someone I know but she's not very hygienic with her kids so in my mind I had to wash them or it wouldn't be at ease. The thrift store ones I washed because I have no idea who they came from and the new ones are all cute but I don't know if I'm putting him in every single one of them :(. grrrrr. we should have a washer and dryer before he gets here though so if I need to make a last minute load of things I want him to wear than I definitely will. I still have a shower coming up next weekend so bring on more clothes lol.

yes I would wash new clothes. I always do even when they get older I wash everything they get before they wear it.
