I'm a single mom my son is 3 and a half and i receive nothing from his dad and I'm pregnant with my baby girl and her dad wanted out as soon as I got pregnant, so I let him go, there is nothing to be scared of, teaching my kids to be strong and independent is my only option :-)
ladies, speaking from experience here are my 2 cents, single mom status isnt a death sentence. if anything it can be freeing. you have your beautiful baby who will look to you for everything, yes this can be overwhelming but YOU CAN DO THIS! Continue being strong, show that sweet baby everything you can, new culture, languages, history, art, find a hobby with them as they get older you will literally see a butterfly bloom. and when those moments come remember who gave them those tools for life..... i was divorced at age 20 with a 1 year old. i exposed him to everything i could think of, my son now almost 7 understands time and space (not something most 7 years olds understand). he can give you about everything there is to know about honest abe (his favorite president) and loves both johnny cash and nikki manige (spelling??). i read to him all the time and used math with him all the time and now he is gifted in both math and reading. what i am trying to say, is you matter. what you do matters!! the "fathers" will miss out on the best thing that could become of them. you have the best part of them and when they grow up (and they will eventually) they will realize what they missed, but your child will not remember that. your child will remember you reading to them, telling them about the 3 billy goats, going to the park to get stuck in the tunnel so they can laugh like loons at you, and most of all they will remember that their mommy was there for everything.

I'm scared as hell too but couldn't be more happy to meet my little princess and I know God wouldn't allow this unless I can handle it

I'm 19 and a single mom...just had my son 1 week ago....it's not as bad as I thought but you do have to be mentally strong
