eat lightly, even when you eat before just in case it comes back up! 32 hours after eating it came back up and it was bad. before you get a epidural ask if you can take a shower. I was in the shower for 2 hours while in labor it was heaven if only the shower was bigger my daughter probably would have been born in there if I could of had her vaginally. also if progressing slowly ask for something to help you sleep I had saydal idk how it's spelt before my epidural and I slept like heaven for 5 hours but I couldn't sleep with the epidural

@elliebelly if you aren't at 3cm yet and are in pain, try the iv meds first! to help you hold off so you can keep progressing. they checked me every hour or so :) so they'll tell you what you are when they do. good luck! hope you have a quick and easy delivery.

@elliebelly no you ask for it but they'll ask you once you get there if you want one. you tell them when you want it though, does that make sense? just ask for it when you feel like you can't handle it anymore. they say to usually wait until 3cm to get it so you can still progress.

Don't the Drs know when to give it to you?? Or do you have to ask? Thank god I posted this because I would have assumed that they give it to you when they know you're ready? How do you know when you're ready?? @ngujen @aferguson

Yes don't wait too long! there was a line with mine but I happen to be the first one to get it. I was 5cm when I got mine

Eat when they offer it! And don't wait too long to ask for the epidural if you are going to get one!
