Weird question but I can't find it on google anywhere.. Does having sex effect your cervical dilation? Like, does it make you seem like you're more dilated than you actually are or less dilated? Or does sex not effect it at all
I believe so! I agree with @xaviermom1221 I've also never heard of that.
@vinnysmomma, If there's no sperm involved though, I'm assuming it'll be okay?
@xaviermom1221, He didn't test anything else but he was saying if I was dilated I'd have to go to L&D and they'd run tests on me. It was over a month ago so I don't remember exactly what he said 😕 I just remember him saying if I've had sex within 72 hours it would effect a test
What all did he test? Because I don't think he could have been talking about dialation
@xaviermom1221, I got checked when I was about 30 weeks because of a labor scare. And I remember him telling me if I had sex within 72 hours it would effect the test but maybe he was talking about something else? I get checked again tomorrow
There's no way it could give you faulty results your cervix is complete shut and when you get further along in pregnancy it starts to open or "dilate". Did you checked recently?
Sex causes your uterus to contract, it does so for conception, so when the sperm enters its sucked up into the uterus. That's why there say sex is a good labor starter because of the contractions. And that's probably what your doc meant, he meant it could effect the stress test(contraction monitor)
