Any 1st time moms who had a c-section? My due date is Wednesday. At my Dr appt today, my Dr said I'm not dilated at all. My baby has been measuring big all along, and my Dr now estimates he is about 9.5lbs and doesn't think I can deliver him naturally... so she scheduled me for a c-section on Thursday. This is my 1st baby, and I really don't know how to feel about it all.

@alliecat_, That's just how my Dr has been all along, until today when she determined it will have to be a c-section. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! 😊 💓

my doc was kinda the same way. she talked about it a lot but it was for me just to know it might have to happen. she was all for vaginal but all for cesarean if needed.

@alliecat_, Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm very you had such a difficult labor, but so happy you & your baby are ok! That is the type of scenario my Dr described to me and wants me to avoid. I did not want a c-section, and would not have 1 if it was a safe option for me. I feel pressured by my Dr, but also want to just trust that she knows what she's talking about.

I have never had a vaginal birth , and it was incredibly hard. I was up 6 hours after, the pain, and all the hormone changes, the postpartum depression I got (which I heard was common with caesareans), the healing process, the journey all around was hard...for me. a lot of women deal. but mine opened up in the corner 10 weeks after. I personally don't wanna do it again. but IF I have to, I WILL! good luck, hun! @mamaofangelbaby0610

they had to put me on pitocin because I was stuck at 1cm for so long. then 4cm then 6cm for 4 hours. no change. she was positioned in my pelvis odd. and she was a big baby. she was 9lbs 7.3oz and I couldn't do it any longer. waiting any more than I did, would put us at risk.

@kmally, Thank you. She is the only 1 at her office and has been the only OB I've been with my entire pregnancy. She has had me go to a very well known hospital in our area for growth scans since I was about 3 months. The Drs there have also been concerned with the baby's size compared to mine (In 5'2" and fairly thin). I am going there again tomorrow morning for a final measurement so my Dr can compare their measurement to hers. I am planning to ask the Dr there if she feels I can deliver naturally or recommends a c-section.

Is there another OB at your office you could talk to and get a second opinion? I would try that and then make the decision that feels best for you and your baby <3

@mamaofangelbaby0610, Thank you, it really hurts to hear that from my mom & sister, and has me very emotional. I agree with you and want to trust my Dr and do what's best for my baby's health (and mine). I'm sorry for the difficulties you had with your last pregnancy. I wish all the best for you with this one. When are you due?

@lilyandkaidynsmommy, @nerdmamatn @ngujen @kmally @soontobemomof5 @swtlilangl Thank you all for your replies. My baby has been measuring large all along, and the entire time I've made it clear with my Dr that I want to try for a vaginal birth regardless of size. Now that I'm almost due, and he's still not in position, but is estimated large, she thinks it's safest for me & him to have a c-section. I don't know what to tell her at this point, to keep waiting another week and see if I make progress? Request to be induced and see if I can push him vaginally? I'm so confused. I didn't want a c-section, but I also don't know what is the safest & smartest decision.
