I'm kinda worried about this also. My son just turned 9 and baby is due in a few weeks

My boyfriend has 2 kids, 8 and 10. I'm pregnant with our first child. They've been wanting a little brother, but we haven't told them yet.

My oldest and middle are 6 1/2 years apart. He is such a great help tho!

my sister and I are exactly 13 years apart. lol

My niece was like this...she would say she didn't care, and would show no emotion and when my sister had the baby, it took her a while but she is so in love with him.you can't MAKE it someone be excited just give it time

me and my brothers who are twins are 9 years apart. I wasn't excited nor did I want them for a while maybe a few years but now I'll kill someone for them, no one messes with those boys.

my son will be 7 when this baby makes its appearance. he is excited to experience it.

Me and my little sister are 16 years apart. I was really pissed about it. but my mom got married and had a tubal reversal and pregnant all in less then a year. I felt like she was trying to replace me and start over. she never knew that though I never told her how I felt. but once she was born it all changed. I held her more then my mom did. she use to yell at me for holding her so much lol I also have another little sister 20 years younger then me. She will be excited once the baby gets here. Maybe not to much at first but once the baby gets older and starts moving around and playing she will love it. plus with the age gap they won't be fighting over toys ;) lol

My son will also be 10 when the new baby arrives but he is pumped. He's been asking for a sibling for years. He's definitely nervous about the change in our family dynamic but he's so good with little ones and excited to be a big brother. She will come around!

She probably just doesn't know how she feels about it quite yet. for kids it can beI very confusing and hard to fully understand until the baby is actually here and they can actually experience it.

@mgaera16, I think you're right. She just has no idea what to expect.

@rachelannise, exactly. if you don't have the baby's name picked out, maybe you can let her help pick out the middle name, or help set up the nursery or pick the color if your painting it. (then again kids may not find that as fun as we do lol)
