the more you bring baby to your breast the more milk you'll make. also pumping does not reflect supply it only shows how well you pump a lot of women don't respond to a pump. I'd recommend slowly cutting down on formula feeding so your body will make more milk
The nurses always try to supplement with formula and as soon as I got home I didn't use any and just breastfed. Try fenugreek and mothers milk tea. Also Gatorade and dark beer are good for your supply. Look up lactation cookies and foods that'll help your supply. Don't give up yet
I've done my share of crying :( I just want to be able to give my son breastmilk and it's hard. Thanks for the advice and support I really needed it. What's your daughter's birthday? if u don't mind me asking lol
I felt the same way. I have a3 week old girl. at first I cried all the time cause I didn't feel like she was getting enough. I started formula feeding. now I do both, bf and formula. I start bf then give get 2 ounces formula. and alternate. sometimes only bf. or formula.
yes. just drink tons of water. breast milk its mostly water so you have to stay very very hydrated. my sister breastfeeds and drinks almost a whole gallon of water and pumps An hour later drinks more water and feeds him again. pump for however long you feel you need. I try to pump for like 30 mins. but if you keep doing it consistently and staying hydrated your supply should go up. you can also try lactation teas or cookies. but definitely drink lots and lots of water
I have a 3 week old. He latched on perfect at the hospital and fed very good but according to nurses he was underweight and I had to supplement with formula. I've gotten so used to giving him formula I'm not producing enough milk now.
