how can I tell if antwan is getting colostrum/milk? I know he is latched on right because he is sucking and it doesn't hurt...but I don't hear him swallowing

@babybump3, ur milk most likely hasn't came in. colostrum is really thick, trust me when your milk comes in, you'll know it:-) I think it takes 3 days to come in

Hearing them swallow means there's air involved. Trust your instincts. I was around my sister who breastfed and I didn't hear the baby swallowing.

I think you most likely won't hear him swallowing because colostrum is such a small amount.
