I used to get annoyed at stuff like this with my husband also but I took a step back and realized that football is his passion. It's what he loves and has always loved! He is actually almost done with school to become a college football couch. I just started planning stuff around his football games. Now in your case yes I would be annoyed still because it's a family dinner. My husbands team played during trick or treating on Halloween and he made an exception and recorded the game. So I do believe sometimes that exceptions really do need to be made when it comes to those things.

Well in my case also he missed football season last year because he was deployed so I have been VERY understanding this year about stuff like this

id ask your grandparents if you can have the game playing in the background maybe so after and before he can watch it usually doesn't take long to actually eat, try finding a compromise that everyone is okay with

i agree with that but my husband doesnt like football and neither do i, his father and brothers though are all about football family get togethers at his dads becomes annoying because all the kids are bored and they only have 1 tv with cable and footballs playing on it all the time
