My boyfriends family is Muslim, I respect there ways, but today me and monster in law and SO were talking and THEY don't want the baby celebrating ANY holidays... I'm not trying to be a bitch and I really do respect his ways but my son will have birthday parties and celebrate Christmas and Halloween, all of It.... It sucks so bad because they are both getting really frustrated about the situation. I just don't think it's fair...... I told them the most I can do is wait until he's old enough to choose if he wants to be Muslim or Christian... This is so hard and it's making me so upset, I don't think it's fair at all that daddy thinks he doesn't need to celebrate holidays, when my nephew who is 4 months old will be celebrating all of them, I just think.... Idk OMG I want to rip my hair out.

@xaviermom1221, my mom is Mexican and my dad is from Pakistan is family is muslim and her famlily is Christian . Growing up we had the best of both worlds we celebrated all the Christian holidays and all my Muslim cousins would come too and then we celebrated the Muslim traditions as well . When the baby comes they will learn to integrate it never harmed is celebrating both it taught us how to be more rounded and learned more about all the traditions plus we got lots of gifts lol and amazing food

Many muslim families actually celebrate holidays such as Christmas, birthdays, and Halloween. My extended family does but I don't. I mean, it's your child. Raise him in both beliefs and let him decide what he wants to believe. That's what my cousin did. He had a child before becoming muslim with a catholic girl. So he raised his son with his beliefs and the mom raised him with her beliefs (they are separated but have custody) so when the boy became 10, he decided he wanted to be muslim. Islam isn't meant to be forced upon anyone. You have to choose whether you want it or not. Let them know you'll raise the child under both beliefs and will let the child decide once he's older. I think that's the best way to do it.

I'm not sure if you're religious or not (I'm not) but if I were you I would still celebrate the holidays with him but make sure to stress that the holidays are about FAMILY, not getting candy or presents. I don't tell my daughter anything about Santa or Jesus, I let her watch Christmas movies and eventually she will develop her own opinion religious wise.

now if you're religious I would just try and explain both religions to him at he grows up. but definitely don't deprive him of the same holidays every other kid enjoys, and you enjoy just because some people tell you not to. Cause honestly, what if 5 years from now you raised your child in the Muslim religion and with no holidays, then you and your boyfriend split up, are you going to continue to raise him in a religion you yourself don't observe?
