How long do you have after your water breaks to get to a hospital?

Once your water breaks you should go straight to the hospital is what I've been told

My water broke at 11 and I had him at 530 that morning

11 at night

Like I wouldn't be able to take a quick shower? Lol. the hospital is walking distance it's not far at all that's why I'm asking how long because I would wanna probably shower before going. The car ride is probably literally 2 minutes from my house it's on same road. Lol

And if your water breaks and there is bad odor or the liquid is dark get to the hospital immediately! That means the baby passed a bowel movement in you and may be in distress... If liquid is light yellow or clearer and odorless yes you have a little time... take a shower, and try to eat some fruit or something light cause once you get to the hospital they probably won't let you eat or drink anything

I was in the hospital for two day after my water broke then had to have a cesarean.

I was told you should try to be in the hospital within am hour; a quick shower is ok but be careful not to get any water in: once your water broke there is an open connection and you are more prone to infections..
