Just be direct and tell him that your baby's health is far more important to you than a family gathering.

...but you're probably nicer than me lol. Tell him that you're not trying to be mean, but you don't want baby to get sick. And tell him the dangers of a baby catching whooping cough.

Explain to him how serious it is and how it can affect you're child if he still want to go he can. Be nice so he want think you're just saying it to get out of not going. I hope he understands

You're not being mean at all. They're being selfish if they are sick and KNOW they're sick and still are coming around everyone, wanting to hold your baby. If you're ill, that's when you just stay at home and rest, not expose everyone else to your illness.

You're a mama. You have to look out for your baby now because your little baby can't do that for them self.
