Venting time. My boobs are so engorged I feel like they're going to pop, I already feel like I'm failing as a mother. My baby refused to latch this morning so we already had to give him a bottle at just 4 days old. Last night he refused to sleep unless being held, not going to lie I fell asleep holding him at one point. My husband is trying to help but I wanted to punch him in the face when he tried to tell me he'd been up the same amount of time as me, and then he got to sleep in after I was up for the day. I'm constantly worrying about my baby wondering if he's sleeping too much, eating enough, etc etc. This is hard.
I had to pump to help that and also bout a nipple shield. and had to wear them for two week before my daughter would actually last one to my breasts.
do what @santistevanmommie said my daughter wouldn't latch when I was engorged or would stop because too much milk was coming down. try pumping when u start feeling full even if it before baby eats .. it took me almost 3 months so my supply can get regulated and I only pump once a day now and before it was 2 to 3 times a day . I have over 800 oz of milk ..
Try pumping a little before you feed him because babies have a hard time latching when you're engorged. Don't give up if you really want to. You have the milk so he will eat as much as he needs once he gets his latch. If you guys still can't get the latch you might need to get a nipple shield
I feel ya! My little girl will be 3 weeks this Saturday and it's been so tough. Breatfeeding didn't work for us after day 5, so we switched to formula. Now I know for sure my baby is getting food. My partner does the same thing, also! I get less sleep than him, but yet he complains about being tired. He gets atleast 5 hours a sleep a night, and that's a bad night with her being up. I get a max of 3 every night, yet he thinks I have things so easy. :/
Try buying a nipple shield.
