My son didn't sleep in his own bed until he was 8 months old. He slept in bed with me and it was so comforting having him right there instead of down the hall. :)
It's a totally normal instinct for the baby to want to be near it's mother when they're sleeping. I bought a Arms Reach Cosleeper and my baby has been sleeping through the night since. I hope you've had better luck in the last few weeks!
