I may or may not have to take my glucose today at 2:30P.M. My doctor wasn't very clear on the date & it doesn't help I'm extremely nocturnal causing me to sleep regular office hours & play a never ended game of phone tag. The only information she gave me was not to eat after midnight. Normally on appointment days I just stay up and don't even bother going to bed, but my eating hours are from 7P.M.-9AM. Should I just not eat at all just in case I do have to take the test? Being awake and not eating for 15 hours doesn't sound great at all.. Any advice on glucose tests? Did any of your Dr's say you could eat for a shorter amount of time than that?!

My doctor never gave me any restrictions before my glucose test...but it seems every doctor is different

I ate and failed it. It's best not to eat.

But not eating for 15 hours and being awake all 15 hours seems like torture! 😞@mommyslittleman

My dr sent me to the lab to do it.. they don't just do it in most offices. I also was supposed to make a specific appointment for it but was never told that so I showed up to do it and they tried to deny me and I was like "I've been fasting for 12 hours" and the lady told me that was too long to be fasting!!! So definitely ask questions at your appointment. Eat before your appointment, don't starve for possibly no reason. They ended up letting me take it anyways and I passed but it was a hassle and I was supposedly only supposed to be fasting for 8 hours. A lot of Drs don't have you fast at all though.

My doctor made me fast so I guess it is different for everyone
