Where are my RH negative mama's? I have to have a rhogam sp? shot because I am A-. My midwife wants me to get it at my next appt when I will only be 26 weeks. I thought you weren't supposed to get it until 28?

I'm O- and I got mine at either 25 or 26 weeks so I think it's just based on your doctor

@mommytoalara @aubreysmommy @aubreysmommy they usually give it at 28 weeks so that it's in your system when you go into labor. It last for about 12 weeks. They will give you another after you deliver if the baby is positive. If the baby is negative as well there is no need for another shot. I'm just concerned if I get it too early and it not lasting until I deliver
I'm getting mine at 27 weeks so I don't think it has to be exactly 28 weeks

I got mine at 28 weeks as well. And I coulda sworn you get the shot when your in labor not after. But I can be mistaken.. Lol

I am ! my blood type is O negative . i had to get the RH shot at 28 weeks if i'm not mistaken, then after you give birth the dr will give you another one .
