I know its everyone's choice to do what they will with their baby. But, I just wanted to pass on some INCREDIBLE information regarding breastfeeding that even *I* as a four time mom and former breast-feeder didn't know. Did you know that a mother's breastmilk actually contains anti-cancer compound, known as Hamlet, which will literally KILL CANCER on contact?? I learned that elderly and middle aged cancer patients are actually opting for drinking donated breastmilk and are having incredible results and outcomes because of it! As women, our bodies are incredible! Here's a pic of a chart that details the benefits of breast feeding vs formula. Clearly, there's no comparison.

Breast is best for a reason! it's amazing what we can do for our children :) I just wish moms who give up breastfeeding had more resources or someone to help!

@kristaandbaby, agreed. I also didn't know that WIC offers so much support to breastfeeding mothers. If you have an issue at any time, apparently you can just show up without an appt and they will have a lactation consultant meet with you and help you get it right. They will even do weight checks for the baby if you need reassuramce they are eating enough. It's so incredible the amount of support that exists that most women don't know about.

That's amazing. especially for low income women. I wish more people knew! and had the motivation to breastfeed.
